Great news from the Burns Park Players Board:

First, and most important, we've picked a show, a director and producers!

We're doing Guys and Dolls! Its a musical about small time gamblers and the Salvation Army believers who try to reform their evil ways. The show features fabulous music by Frank Loesser and our staging will make special efforts to integrate the children in fun ways and give women songs to perform in that might be as fun as the ones the men get (although it's hard to top Luck Be a Lady!)

Mike Mosallam has agreed to come back to direct. Mike has directed five shows for the Burns Park Players and we're thrilled to welcome him back this year.

Finally, our super team of producers: Sara Meingast, Kathy Koehler and Helen Starman have agreed to re-up this year. It took the board about 3 seconds to pass the unanimous vote hire them back at their same generous wage!

The Spring Membership Meeting will take place on May 19, 2009 at 7:30pm in the Burns Park Library. Come hear all the details.

Nominations for four vacant board positions should be submitted to L. Harris by May 9 so we can place their name on the ballot. Self-nominations are very welcome!

Finally, we will vote on amending the bylaws. The current bylaws and a link to the proposed new ones are here: http://www.burnsparkplayers.org/incoming/bylaws. Jon Wardner, Tom Bourque, Vince Wellman and Deb Odom Stern worked very hard to give us a set of bylaws that is more coherent and complete than the set we've lived with until now. Please take a look and be ready to talk about them at the meeting in May.
